The Athlone Old Boys' Society was founded by an Athlone Student
who put a great deal of importance on good education. This attitude
of supporting good education is shared by all Athlone Society Directors,
with the idea of awarding annual bursaries and in time scholarships
to hard working students who reach for a high standard in their studies,
achieving top marks in the B.C. Provincial Government exams. Students
from BRENTWOOD COLLEGE, CROFTON HOUSE SCHOOL, SHAWNIGAN LAKE SCHOOL,
YORK HOUSE SCHOOL, ST. GEORGE'S BC Private schools will be considered.
In memory of Mrs. Dryvynsyde's passion for English grammar, initial bursaries will
reflect highest proficiency in this area."
